Stupid Sayings and Hate Mail

We sure do get a lot of love from all of you out there. But, from time to time we do seem to attract some folks who just were not paying close attention in school and "fell through the cracks", as the left is wont to say.

Some of the items from the bag of mail are just down right stupid and ignorant, possibly through no fault of the writer, or they are just down right mean, mendacious, hate-filled, bigoted, anti-religious (usually anti-Catholic or anti-Christian), intolerant of other view points or world views, or just grossly uncouth because their mommas just never taught them proper etiquette or manners while they were growing up. Again through no fault of their own; it was probably Bush's fault or that of the right wing Christian fundamentalists. Silly us!

And, since some of these are so kooky and wacko, we thought it would be selfish to keep them to ourselves.

BE MINDFUL: We chose not to edit the vile hate in some letters, so some of the language is definitely inappropriate for underage children. Parents, or those who are faint of heart, are cautioned to use prudent judgement when viewing this section of the website.

UNSOLICITED EMAILS, LETTERS AND ANY COMMUNICATIONS BECOME THE PROPERTY OF PFLI AND MAY BE POSTED TO THE WEBSITE

With that, sit back and enjoy our Stupid Sayings and Hate Mail section!

[PFLI replies from Karen Brauer, MS, RPh, are between the lines in RED...]

Dear Ms Brauer,

I stumbled onto your website during a routine Internet search for "plan b", and, quite frankly, I was rather upset by what I read.

I will forward this to our executive director who will possibly obtain as much gratification as I did.

I understand that the PFLI website is ostensibly targeted at pharmacists, however, much of the information posted there, especially in the FAQ's, is strongly biased to support a certain viewpoint. If a member of the general public, like myself, should find the website, they could very well come away from the site with a biased opinion of Plan B and other similar drugs.

Are you able to distinguish between information which is factual, and the information which expresses our opinions about the facts? We expect that most people who are capable of internet access can do that. For example: Plan B and Ella have multiple mechanisms of action, some of which operate to kill the early human embryo (fact). We, as pro-life pharmacists do not like those killing mechanisms (opinion), and wish not to participate (fact).

Your organization certainly has every right to have an internet presence, but, since your target audience is pharmacists and not the general public, perhaps requiring a login using the license number would be appropriate.

That some might wish for the general public not to be informed about the [abortifacient] mechanisms of action of Plan B and drugs with related function comes as no surprise. That would impede sales of those products.

On a final note, I believe that pharmacists, like other professions intended for the greater public good, including doctors, the police and EMS/EMT workers, need to put aside their personal beliefs when working.

You are free to choose health care professionals who have no objection against killing the very young, the very old, or the disabled, or who exclude other ethical restraints from their professional functions. It's Natural Selection.

If they are unable to do so, then they need to find a different career that will allow them to exercise those beliefs. Perhaps the organization could become Ex-Pharmacists For Life International?

Natural selection for more of your fellows? OK... but I didn't suggest it, you did. The ethical system, to which I attempt to adhere, constrains me from that impulse.

Thank you for your time,

An Outraged Citizen.

It's been fun! God bless!

We got this little piece of insanity from someone who loves to spew the vitriol like nobody's business. Kiss your mama with that mouth? Anywho, he or she (hard to say which) went ballistic when reading about the draconian punishment for Neil Noesen by the WI BoP, and the articulate quotes from PFLI prez Karen Brauer, MS, RPh, in the Milwaukee Sentinel Journal article the next day.

Thanks to "Craig List" for making our day all the more special, after all it has been a little while since we got some good hate mail from these advocates of love, peace and Barrie Hussein-style Infanticide:

"You make me sick [oh, we're pharmacists, we can help you there]. It's people and groups like you that are what's wrong with this country. Statements like 'They'll force women to kill their children ... It will be like China. It's the next logical step,' makes anyone who hears or reads them dumber [so they were dumb already?]. Anyone who thinks 'It's the next logical step' needs some serious psychiatric evaluation. I have some names of professionals if Karen Brauer is interested. I just hope this recent decision against Neil Noesen is upheld and it sets a precedent for all future idiots who try to deny someone something that is legally their right."

Yawn! You get the picture folks! We're still waiting for the therapy referrals...back at 'chu my man (or woman?)! You got your street cred now!

Note: The content below contains direct quotes that may include offensive language. Viewer discretion advised.

The following guy calls himself "drug monkey" which may reflect more on cerebral aptitude than it does looks, although that is also a possibility, given the pic of himself he put on his hate-filled blog

When we asked him if his hatred is limited to pharmacists with a conscience or all health care professionals he replied:

"You talk about my hate like it is some sort of bad thing.........."[we can't make this stuff up folks!]

Anyway here's a portion of his spewed hatred (it also contains a blog he actually called "Why I Hate Lloyd Duplantis, Of Gray, Louisiana More Than Any Pharmacist On The Face Of The Earth" [Duplantis is a former president of PFLI as well as a long time member and board director, father of seven and adopted father of one, a true valiant gentleman and warrior in the fight for life and conscience in the profession of pharmacy for 30+ years]:

"...I would think they would have at least been able to afford a copy of Microsoft Frontpage and/or someone who knows how to use the web-page building program to make a page that isn't...um...hideously f***ing ugly, but evidently not, as you can see here. Just in case your eyeballs were starting to melt at the sight of such an incredibly poorly designed web page, or just didn't feel like boosting this woman's ego by adding to her hit count totals....'Guv 'Slobodan' sends threatening enforcement letter to IL pharmacists, dictatorial grip tightens, demands they wear 'scarlet letter' showing they have a conscience'... I'll translate that bit of lunatic ranting for you. She's referring to Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, who has signed an executive order in his state to ensure that women have access to emergency contraception [read: chemical abortion]. Blagojevich, as far is known, has yet to show up for work at the statehouse wearing military fatigues or that odd looking hat depicted on Brarer's [sic] website. She seems to be commenting on the governor being of Serbian origin. Evidently this is funny in the world of the Christian fascists."

Well, you get the idea...the poor guy can hardly string a few sentences together without hurling expletives and cursing, and shows an apparent lack of journalistic skills, confusing the president of PFLI (whose name he cannot even copy correctly) with the webmaster and editor of various parts of the well constructed PFLI web site. Call it web hit jealousy, but he does have effective, well reasoned arguments confused with college neaderthal level writing and logic. For the record, PFLI has no problem with Guv "Slobodan" just his methods which mirror his commie bro back in old Yugoslavia, known for his atrocities and ethnic cleansing efficacy. Naturally, anyone who shows this 'monkey' up with some well reasoned arguments is, in true hypocritical liberal fashion, called a 'fascist'. [He probably doesn't recall Slobo's bros in Yugo aligned well with the REAL Fascists during WWII, but that's what an inferior education gets you.] As for Slobo's pic, can you say "morph"?

This "law student" initially was friendly and civil, as most abortoholics are when fishing for what they see as an "ah ha! gotcha!" moment. Of course, we try to accomodate the people no matter what their point of view, regardless how anti-life it may be. In our opinion, she gets pretty hysterical towards the end. Mind you: she contacted us to "entrap" a speaker and got a good therapeutic dose of reasoned, rational arguments from PFLI's prez Karen Brauer.

See for yourself; the clearer missives are towards the bottom, the frantic hysterionics towards the top, despite Karen Brauer's calm, rational replies. Eventually, she couldn't hit the stop button, so Brauer hit the "Easy" button and let this "law student's" Student Affairs Dean know about her shenanigans.

DAVID WILLIAMS II

Vice Chancellor for Student Life and University Affairs

General Counsel and Secretary of Vanderbilt University

Professor of Law

Dear Dr. Williams,

I am having some difficulties with uninvited emails from a second year law student at Vanderbilt, and would appreciate a small amount of assistance in this matter. This student requested a statement from me for supposed use in a panel discussion on birth control to be hosted by the Law School on Feb 2. I fulfilled her request by writing a statement, since it is customary for me to assist students in understanding this controversial topic, if I have the time. Unfortunately my statement inspired further debate from the student. After I saw that she would continue to carry on a private debate, I attempted to discourage this in the usual fashion, by telling her that further communication would result in my taking her debate into a public forum. I do not have time to address each person's concerns with my publicly held views. This seemed to anger her more than my views on the topic in question, and she is persisting in her emails (though I have ceased) and is claiming that reproduction of her email will result in legal action.

The behavior of this student to one from whom she requested assistance is not such a good reflection on Vanderbilt school of law. It would tend to discourage further assistance from me, in the future, because of the result. I hope that the issue can be addressed from within the university to ask this student Ms. Marissa Lydick- Kaslow to cease in her emails to me, and to modify her behavior towards those from whom she requests free assistance in her work, regardless of her personal feelings.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Best regards,

There is no human right to sex. Other sexually reproducing species which exhibit social structure must earn the privilege to copulate and reproduce. Sex, particularly the kind which can result in pregnancy, involves participation of another of the same species, and is designed primarily for continuance of the species. The participation should be voluntary. A human may not rightfully demand sex from another human, or demand support for any consequences of the sex act from a third human.

There is not a human right to health care. One human may not rightfully demand of another that he provide health care. One may not rightfully demand of a pediatrician that he perform open heart surgery. One may not rightfully demand of any medical professional that he participate in an act which purposely ends a human life.

There is no human right for one person to demand that any other person provide a product or service for him. Such a demand, and its enforcement would constitute enslavement, stealing, or both.

There exists the human right to not be purposefully killed. Upon this right all human efforts, social interactions, and privileges rest.

Some would claim a so called "right" to kill other humans of their choosing, while also claiming another so called "right" to enslave others to do their will. This is the current political position of Planned Parenthood, and affiliated organizations, which demand that others perform services (including killing) which they themselves favor, but appear insufficiently motivated or competent to provide. This political position is blatantly misbranded as "prochoice".

That the human life begins at the successful completion of fertilization is recognized in the science of embryology. Human organisms do not change species, nor are they "not alive" at any time during their development. Arguing against these facts, in order to justify killing some humans, places one in the position of the Nazis, and slaveowners who denied that their victims and slaves were of the same human species as themselves. See quotes from embryology texts below, regarding development of the human organism.

There has been no coherent moral argument differentiating among human organisms with respect to their intrinsic value. There has been no substantive evidence to establish that a human organism aquires intrinsic value by means of formed relationships, or by being wanted by another human. There is no coherent, self consistent argument for suggesting that some humans may be purposely killed, while others may not.

There exists substantial medical evidence that all hormonal birth control drugs act to some degree by post fertilization mechanisms (acting to kill an early human embryo prior to the time of implantation in the uterine lining). The degree to which these mechanisms contribute to the efficacy varies among the types of birth control, with the progestin-only, and the morning after pill types being particularly problematic. (Some of the pertinent medical references providing evidence that hormonal birth control may act to kill an existing human organism are given below, and are viewable in their entirety from the links.)

Some health care professionals, including pharmacists are exerting a human right to avoid purposely killing another human. These people claim No moral authority to determine which humans may be purposely killed and which may not. They choose to avoid the killing and act on the choice based upon evidence found in respectable medical texts and journals, and from pharmaceutical manufacturers themselves.

Women are better served in their health care by being informed fully of hormonal birth control mechanisms, and untoward side effects. Conscientiously objecting health care professionals, particularly the pharmacists, have served women well in this regard by offering this information and natural methods of managing their reproductive health.

There remains an ongoing political effort to enslave medical professionals by coercing them legally to participate in the purposeful killing of humans. This effort will contribute to a general shortage which has already mandated recruiting from countries outside the U.S. for competent health care professionals.

The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology: "Zygote: this cell results from the union of an oocyte and a sperm. A zygote is the beginning of a new human being (i.e., an embryo). Human development begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm ... unites with a female gamete or oocyte ... to form a single cell called a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marks the beginning of each of us as a unique individual." Moore, K. and T.V.N. Persaud. 1998. The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology (6th ed.), W.B. Saunders Company, Philadelphia, pp 2-18.

Essentials of Human Embryology: "In this text, we begin our description of the developing human with the formation and differentiation of the male and female sex cells or gametes, which will unite at fertilization to initiate the embryonic development of a new individual. ... Fertilization takes place in the oviduct ... resulting in the formation of a zygote containing a single diploid nucleus. Embryonic development is considered to begin at this point... This moment of zygote formation may be taken as the beginning or zero time point of embryonic development." Larsen, W.J. 1998. Essentials of Human Embryology, Churchill Livingstone, New York, pp. 1-17.

Human Embryology & Teratology: "Fertilization is an important landmark because, under ordinary circumstances, a new, genetically distinct human organism is thereby formed... Fertilization is the procession of events that begins when a spermatozoon makes contact with a secondary oocyte or its investments... The zygote ... is a unicellular embryo... "The ill-defined and inaccurate term pre-embryo, which includes the embryonic disc, is said either to end with the appearance of the primitive streak or ... to include neurulation. The term is not used in this book." (p. 55)."O'Rahilly, R. and F. Muller. 1996. Human Embryology & Teratology, Wiley-Liss, New York, pp. 5-55.
