Click to listen to Karen Brauer, MS, RPh's interview on Ave Maria Radio with Teresa Tameo on 24 Jan 2008. An 18 minute interview PFLI President Karen Brauer, MS, RPh granted to Ave Maria Radio over the increasingly hostile and intolerant environment within the profession to pharmacists of conscience and the First Amendment Right of freedom of expression and religion. Brauer briefly discusses the formation of PFLI and her journey in pharmacy in fighting for rights of conscience for all pharmacists. A compelling and succinct discussion.

Papal Documents Directly Addressing the issue of Conscience for Pharmacists, and their religious obligation to follow these specific magisterial teachings. In recent times, Pope John Paul II gave a number of allocutions, as part of the exercise of his ordinary magisterial instructions which religiously are binding on pharmacists, and other health care workers where applicably taught. Click here to read this exciting document that shows at least 3 specific allocutions which affirmatively and definitively give Catholic pharmacists and pharmacists of good will their "marching orders".

Testimony of John Menges, RPh. Menges was one of the Walgreens Four, terminated from the chain's diminishing stable of pharmacists with a conscience (the others went on strike, remember?) in the homestate of the Dictator of the Midwest, Guv "Slobodan" Blagojevich. Was Menges terminated for resfusing to dispense known high-powered steroids abortifacients which kill preborn babies and harms their moms? Nope! He refused to sign a Walgreens pledge to violate his sincerely held religious and moral beliefs. And so he and a growing number of pharmacists have joined in various lawsuits against the totalitarian abortoholic Serb reigning in Springfield, but who much rather prefers the shores of Lake Michigan to the boorish 'fundies' downstate as the kook left-wing radicals refer to anyone with Christian beliefs. Now, there's tolerance!

Testimony of Dr Kristine Severyn, PhD in Biopharmaceutics. Hmmm! The abortoholic babe from NARAL quoted PFLI's website during her testimony at the Ohio capitol during hearings on HB 469 but she failed to mention the great proponent testimony we reported on the website, so, here it is! From the tesimony given 1 March 2006 by two experts who actually paid attention during Biology 101

Testimony of Dr James Johnston, DO, family practitioner, using hard scientific evidence supporting his conclusions.

Vast majority of pharmacists (69%) state they have a right to conscience in refusing to fill/counsel for drugs which violate their moral, ethical or religious convictions Dec 2005 AD. Oops! this will shock the antique media, the out of touch pharmacy associations, and unjust governmental structures: nearly 900 pharmacists respond to a polling firm and let it be known they are not robots but rather thinking, caring individuals who will invoke their right to NOT be party to killing or harming their patients (requires free registration)

Allen Williams receives a response from Walgreens spokesman Phil Burgess on how they handled the firing of 4 pro-life pharmacists of conscience in IL 27 Dec 2005 AD. Read the "we were just following orders" evasion of accountability by the man who serves on the IL Board of Pharmacy at the pleasure of Gov. "Slobodan" Blagojevich. It's a violin tune which played before...at the Nuremburg Trials

Luke Vander Bleek's Testimony before the US House of Representatives Committee 25 July 2005 AD re: persecution of Pharmacists of Conscience by the IL Governor Rod "Slobodan" Blagojevich, and how that same persecution can only exacerbate the extreme pharmacist shortage in the US especially in rural areas.

Peggy Pace's testimony before the IL Assembly re: Health Professionals Conscience Clause, 2 June 2005 AD. Read how a brave IL pharmacist gave good solid evidence and testimony defending a pharmacist's "right to choose" to follow his or her properly formed conscience and not have pro-abort IL Governor "Slobodan" Blagojevich impose his amoral views on pharmacists who can think and choose for themselves.

Erik A McClave, RPh lays out the difficulties inherent in being a pharmacist today as well as a practicing Catholic. McClave, a New England chain store pharmacist, details the conflicts he has encountered as he tries to follow his properly formed conscience and not have pro-aborts impose their amoral views on pharmacists like himself, who can think and choose for themselves. Although having a leper-like minority status, pharmacists who still have a conscience constitute a growing body of people in the profession.

Paula Koch's testimony before the KS House of Representatives re: Health Professionals Conscience Clause, 26 March 2002. Read how PFLI's Regional Coordinator for KS gave good solid evidence and testimony defending a pharmacist's "right to choose" to follow his or her properly formed conscience and not have pro-aborts impose their amoral views on pharmacists who can think and choose for themselves.

Do pharmacists have a right to refuse to dispense a prescription based on personal beliefs? A paper presenting the pros and cons of a conscience clause and attendant ramifications. Its conclusion, while hopeful for pharmacists, nonetheless is qualified.

Summary of APhA Committee Discussion Read APhA discussion prior to their adopting their model of the conscience clause in a watered-down version in March 1998. While there is much good discussion in the paper the reasoning is flawed and fully accepts the "contraceptive mentality" as well as the "abortion mentality."
