*BUSTED: Pro-Abortion Filmmaker Caught in Documentary Deception*
Pro-Life activist Carlos Polo turns tables on abortion-promoter Eve
    Reinhardt

    By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

    LIMA, June 23, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pro-abortion filmmaker Eve
Reinhardt got the proverbial taste of her own medicine recently
after contacting Carlos Polo, Latin American director for the
pro-life Population Research Institute (PRI), to request an
interview for her latest project, a theatrical performance using
    video images.

According to Polo, Reinhardt claimed that she was an independent
filmmaker seeking to do an "impartial" documentary on the abortion
issue, and wanted to shoot an interview with him.

But after doing some research, Polo discovered that the project's
website is entitled "The Decency Gap", a slogan long used by
abortion proponents who object to the United States' Mexico City
Policy, which prohibits funding for international organizations that
perform or provide information about abortions. The site is filled
with pro-abortion rhetoric, and states openly that the documentary
is being funded by Planned Parenthood, among other pro-abortion
    organizations.
Polo decided to turn the tables on Reinhardt, and arranged a meeting
with her - and his own cameraman.

"What's the name of the project?" asks Polo at the beginning of his
interview, which was posted on YouTube by the Catholic news agency
    ACI Prensa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83JXW41BRA0). Reinhardt
responds: "Oh we don't know yet, we're kind of like, toying around
with different things. I have about two more years to go before this
    is complete."
"I'm a little afraid," says Polo, "because I do know what your
project is. I know that your project is called 'The Decency Gap'."
"This is an old website..." begins Reinhardt, but Polo cuts her
off. "What you're doing isn't decent. You told me that you're
impartial. This isn't impartial. This is insulting to many people."

Reinhardt asserts her neutrality by claiming that she's trying to
find a "way to be able to decrease the number of abortions in the
world and also limit the number of women who die."

Although Reinhardt claims the website is old, implying it is somehow
out of date, Polo points out that she is still using
"thedecencygap.org" as the domain for her email address. "It isn't
decent to kill children," says Polo. "It isn't decent to come to
another country to try to change the laws."

"Why didn't you tell me the truth?" asks Polo. Reinhardt, flustered,
says she's not telling the truth, apparently intending to say she
is. Polo then tells her to think things over, and leaves.

The front page of the Decency Gap website, now removed, rails
against the "Global Gag Rule" (as the Mexico City Policy is called
by its opponents), and asserts that "contrary to its stated
intentions, the Global Gag Rule results in more unwanted
pregnancies, more unsafe abortions, and more deaths of women and girls."

Although the site's operators removed the front page text and links
after Polo's video exposé, they neglected to remove the site's
informational pages, which can still be viewed at
    http://www.thedecencygap.org/issue.html.

Under the heading "Who's Involved" the site boasts that it has
"benefited from the guidance and participation of over 30 leading
organizations and agencies, including International Planned
Parenthood, Marie Stopes International, Center for Reproductive
Rights and Policy, and PROMSEX (Peru)" - organizations that provide
abortions and campaign to legalize the practice worldwide.

The "About" section explains, "The Decency Gap is an original and
dynamic production being developed for the live stage in New York
City. Combining live theatre, innovative media, and traditional
journalism, The Decency Gap aims to bring world audiences face to
face with the hidden reality of unsafe abortion and maternal
mortality on women's health and lives throughout the developing world."

"Using the theatre as a key platform for social and political
change, we hope to inspire and help enable citizens and governments
to make future policy decisions that are firmly rooted in the
reality of women's health and survival," the webpage continues.
