PFLI announces New WA State Coordinator
*
Columbus, OH -- Pharmacists For Life International (PFLI) today
announced the appointment of new WA state regional coordinator, CJ
Kahler, RPh. Kahler also is coordinating the new effort by PFLI to
collect, collate and share best practices among pharmacists who invoke
their rights of conscience under the umbrella Pharmacist Conscience
Coalition.

WA state continues to carry critical importance for PFLI and the
pro-life movement given its historical proclivities for liberalized
abortion and euthanasia. Currently, a draconian anti-pharmacist board of
pharmacy rule has been stayed twice by a federal judge as a violation of
First Amendment, labor and other basic human rights. Lawsuits againt the
ruling--pushed hard by Gov Chris Gregoire--continue. Gregoire stacked
the board just prior to the new rule with members who would follow her
abortoholic directives. US District Judge Ronald Leighton's decision, a
defeat for Gov Gregoire, is the latest twist in long-running legal and
political battles over the abortifacient so-called "morning-after" pill,
which is sold under the trade name Plan B.

Some of the duties of PFLI regional coordinators are: conduct regional
/ local meetings; membership development in the area; writing articles
/ letters / interviewing with local media; speaking in a geographic
area; holding PFLI or PFLI-sponsored gatherings in an area; pro-active
initiatives of the Conscience Clause and other pertinent legislation in
the area; contacting and networking with pharmacy schools and
associations in the area; and reporting area news of interest to PFLI
Headquarters.
