ALL CALLS FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD INVESTIGATION IN WAKE OF VIDEO
PROTECTING CHILD RAPISTS
*Washington, DC (5 December 2008)* -- American Life League is calling
for an investigation into Planned Parenthood of Indiana in the wake of
two bombshell stories this week -- one exposing PPIN's protection of
child rapists.
American Life League supporters across the nation called on Attorney
General Steve Carter to investigate Planned Parenthood's counseling
practice in all of its 35 affiliates around the state.
The action comes days after Live Action Films, a pro-life student group
from the University of California, exposed a Planned Parenthood
counselor in Bloomington coaching a 13-year-old girl on how to avoid
state law and protect her 31-year-old rapist.
Planned Parenthood of Indiana also angered pro-lifers earlier in the
week with the news that Christmas gift certificates would be available
for services including abortions.
"Looking for an unusual, yet practical gift this holiday season?" PPIN
asks in a press release announcing the certificates available for
redemption at any of the groups 35 affiliates across the state. "Planned
Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is now offering gift certificates for
services or the recipient's choice of birth control method ..."
including abortions.
"Planned Parenthood is a tax-dollar bloated blight on the Hoosier
state," ALL said in a message to its supporters. "But with your help the
disturbing news coming from Indiana this week will signal renewed calls
to Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter to investigate the Indiana
affiliate of the nation's largest abortion chain."
American Life League's vice president, Jim Sedlak, described Planned
Parenthood's actions as typical of the organization's disdain for the
welfare of women and children.
"The depth of this organization's vitriol against women is truly shining
forth in all its ugliness in Indiana," said Jim Sedlak, vice president
of American Life League. "Planned Parenthood's well-documented pattern
of protecting rapists must end!"
Planned Parenthood of Indiana is an affiliate of Planned Parenthood
Federation of America, the nation's largest abortion provider.

Researchers Who Deny Abortion/Depression Link Play Politics with Women's
Health Say 'Silent No More' Leaders
STATEN ISLAND, Ny., Dec. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- Leaders of the Silent
No More Awareness Campaign (SNMAC), the world's largest network of women
and men harmed by abortion, today criticized a report by Johns Hopkins
University researchers that claims there is no link between abortion and
mental health issues. The report said efforts to show that psychological
distress is higher among post-abortive women "appear to be politically
motivated."
"The Johns Hopkins University report's allegation that studies proving
the reality of post-abortion depression are politically motivated has to
be the new definition of chutzpah," said Janet Morana, co-founder of the
SNMAC. "The Johns Hopkins study was led by a man, Dr. Robert Blum, who
once chaired the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood's research
arm, the Alan Guttmacher Institute, and who has been used as an expert
witness by the Center for Reproductive Rights. I wouldn't exactly call
this a report done by a disinterested, objective observer."
"Three recent studies, from America, Australia, and New Zealand,
documenting abortion's increased risk of subsequent mental and emotional
disorders were conveniently ignored by the Johns Hopkins study," added
Georgette Forney, another SNMAC co- founder. "As I and thousands of
Silent No More women can testify, the ones playing politics with women's
lives are those who ignore the clear evidence of abortion's impact on
women in order to advance their own pro-abortion agenda."
/Since the launching of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003,
2,739 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at over 325
gatherings in 44 states and seven countries where more than 41,000
spectators have heard the truth about abortion's negative aftereffects.
More than 6,100 people are registered to be Silent No More. Raising
awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is
available to cope with the pain are two of the Campaign's goals.
The Silent No More Awareness Campaign is a joint project of Anglicans
for Life and Priests for Life. For more information, please visit our
