**The Physiology of Motherhood: Studies Show 'Natural High' in Brains of
Mothers Looking at Their babies*
*

*By Jenna Murphy*

*HOUSTON, July 17, 2008, (LifeSiteNews.com) - Recent brain imaging
studies conducted in The Human Neuro-imaging Laboratory at Baylor
College of Medicine in Texas show that a mother is triggered
physiologically by as little as a picture of her child.*

*The brain images captured while 28 different first-time mothers looked
at their infant showed that the brain's reward centers are activated by
an increased blood flow, thus creating a "natural high" effect. These
same areas (associated with thinking, movement, behavior and emotion)
are activated in many cases of addicts when their addiction is satiated.*

*Observers have inferred from these findings that abortion's
ramifications are not only 'spiritual and emotional' but also physical,
as the developing physiological relationship between the child in the
womb and the mother is suddenly cut off, causing a physiological
'cold-turkey' effect.*

*"When a mother is abruptly and violently disconnected from her child
there is a natural trauma. She has undergone an unnatural death event.
In many cases, she has violated her moral ethics and natural instincts.
There has been a crushing blow to her image of 'mother who nurtures,
protects and sustains life,'" said Theresa Burke, the founder of
Rachel's Vineyard in an interview with Zenit.*

*The biological nature of the mother-child relationship and the
resultant trauma caused by abortion has been confirmed in numerous studies.*

*A research review in a 2006 issue of Current Women's Health Reviews
outlines a study that reinforces previous findings showing that women
who have abortions are up to five times more likely to become dependent
on drugs and/or alcohol 'to cope with the after effects of the trauma'

Baby who 'came back to life' dies

Aug. 19, 2008

A premature baby who "came back to life" Monday five hours after she was
declared dead and taken to the morgue died early Tuesday morning.

The one-day-old child passed away at 5:15 a.m. in Nahariya Hospital.

She was buried in the Muslim cemetery in Kafr Yassif, and only a small
group of men from her family attended.

"This story was played up in the media because we are dealing with human
lives here," a cleric attending the funeral said. "There is no doubt
this case should make people do some soul-searching and draw
conclusions. A person's age is dependent on God. Everybody thought the
girl was dead, and then she came back to life. But this morning she was
pronounced dead. It all happened according to Heaven's will."

The girl's father said the family would demand to see the girl's medical
record and require clarifications on "all the questions we have."

When the baby girl's mother gave birth to her Monday after going into
premature labor at the hospital, the doctor on the scene pronounced the
610-gram fetus dead and it was taken to the morgue.

The father, Ali Majdub, told Channel 2 that his wife realized the child
was alive after asking to see her dead daughter one last time.

"When we unwrapped the baby to see her, she realized it was moving. I
began screaming and ran with it toward the doctors," he said.

She was then rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit, where doctors
fought for her life.

Hospital spokesman Ziv Farber had said Monday that any premature infant
of that weight and age had only a 10 percent chance for survival. But
five years ago, he added, "we had a baby weighing only 580 grams, and
she survived."

Dr. Moshe Daniel, the hospital's deputy director, said that in his 35
years as a physician, he had "never heard of such a case. It was like a
medical miracle."

The hospital informed the Health Ministry, which will now decide whether
to set up an internal or external investigating committee. Daniel
speculated that the cooling effect of the morgue slowed the infant's
metabolism, causing her oxygen consumption to be very low. There have
been rare cases of people who nearly froze under snow "coming back to
life," but there have been no reports of babies doing so.
