To the Editor:

Del. Bob Marshall (R-13) is picking up steam in his challenge to former 
Gov. Jim Gilmore to become the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate. The 
conservative base is learning that Gilmore supports abortion during the 
first eight weeks of pregnancy and he is compensated financially by 
serving on the board of directors of Barr Labs which produces the 
abortifacient "morning after" pill.

In contrast, Bob Marshall is 100 percent committed to protecting all 
unborn life, inclusive of the first eight weeks when over half of all 
abortions occur. Instead of local primaries, the nomination voting 
process will take place at the Virginia Republican Convention in 
Richmond on May 31. Deadlines for registering for the convention are 
soon (March 29 in Fairfax County) but vary by area and can be found at 
www.bobmarshall2008.com.

Those of us who cringe when pro-life principles are compromised realize 
how important it is to sacrifice the time to attend this convention in 
order to vote for Marshall. His 16 years of legislative experience and 
genuine pro-life position will make him the best candidate for U.S. 
Senate. A pro-life surge could make a huge difference in this race 
resulting in a victory for the culture of life.
